Helen Lais is the founder and Managing Partner of Arborist Capital.
Previously, Helen was a Partner and the Co-Head of U.S. Fund Investments of AlpInvest Partners, a global private equity firm managing over $45 billion. Helen was a member of the Firm’s Investment and Human Resources Committees. Helen represented AlpInvest Partners on numerous Advisory Boards across all areas of private equity. Helen joined AlpInvest Partners from Goldman, Sachs & Co. where she was a Vice President in the Private Equity Group, which managed over $11 billion in private equity fund and direct co-investment assets. Helen joined Goldman, Sachs & Co., from the Office of the Treasurer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she focused on private equity investments, including venture capital, buyouts and international private equity on behalf of the MIT endowment and retirement plan.
Prior to MIT, Helen worked as a management consultant in the financial institutions and information technology practices of Mitchell Madison Group, A.T. Kearney, Inc., and McKinsey & Company.
Helen received a B.S. from Boston College in finance and philosophy and a M.B.A. in product and venture development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Sloan School of Management.
